On July 13, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) announced the official delivery in Shanghai of the country's pioneering marine-class intelligent comprehensive scientific research vessel, 'Tongji', constructed by Huangpu Wenchong. This vessel represents a 2,000-ton, next-generation green, silent, and intelligent scientific research vessel, independently designed and constructed by China. It amalgamates marine geology, chemistry, biological research, and educational functions, effectively serving as Tongji University's 'offshore campus'. Compared to its predecessors, the 'Tongji' exhibits a remarkable advancement in intelligence capabilities.
