Early in the morning on the 7th, a 4.9-magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, with a focal depth of approximately 20 kilometers. Shortly after, a 3.3-magnitude quake struck near Kozushima Island, having a focal depth of about 10 kilometers. Neither of these earthquakes posed a risk of tsunami.
