Spring Airlines Japan has issued a statement regarding flight JL8696, which was en route from Shanghai to Tokyo Narita on the evening of June 30. The airline confirmed that a cabin pressurization system malfunction alert was triggered, necessitating an emergency descent and subsequent diversion to a different airport. Spring Airlines Japan is currently investigating the veracity of the alert to determine if it was a false alarm. The airline further stated that to date, no reports of physical discomfort from either passengers or crew members have been received. The flight, operated by a Boeing 738, was safely diverted to Kansai Airport, with all on board unharmed.
