Since June, the power bank industry has witnessed extensive recalls, with prominent brands like Anker Innovations and ROMOSS issuing notices for over 1.2 million power banks. Notably, ROMOSS has recalled 490,000 units across three models. The primary reasons cited in these recall announcements revolve around "defects in cell raw materials" and "failure of separator insulation," both of which underscore potential safety risks within the battery cells. Specifically, separator failure can lead to critical issues such as gas generation and thermal runaway. This incident underscores the significant challenges the power bank industry is confronting regarding battery cell quality.
