On June 28, a data transmission malfunction at the Milan Area Control Center in Italy necessitated the temporary halt of all takeoffs and landings in Milan, Bergamo, Genoa, Turin, and other areas under its control. This incident is believed to have impacted more than 300 flights. Out of an abundance of caution, all flight operations in the northwest region were suspended until further notice.
