Recently, Director Sun Meijun of the General Administration of Customs visited Inner Mongolia to conduct research. During her visit, she underscored the importance of fully embracing the pivotal guidance provided by General Secretary Xi Jinping on work in Inner Mongolia, as well as the directives outlined in his response letter to the Hongqilafu Customs. She emphasized the commitment to uphold the responsibilities of securing national borders and fostering high-quality development, thereby reinforcing the security defense in the northern frontier.

Director Sun highlighted the necessity for border customs to adhere to the "Two Upholds" principle and implement the spirit of the Central Peripheral Work Conference. She stressed the need to promote the harmonious development of smart customs and smart ports, ensuring enhanced support for Inner Mongolia's advanced efforts in opening up to the world. Additionally, she emphasized the critical role of rigorously safeguarding national border security, vigorously combating smuggling and other illicit activities, and effectively mitigating various risks.

During her research, Director Sun conducted on-site inspections at the comprehensive bonded zone and port. She proposed enhancing regulatory efficiency through technological advancements, ensuring smooth logistics operations, and fostering a stable increase in foreign trade volume and quality. Furthermore, she emphasized the importance of strengthening team building and encouraged customs and police officers to establish themselves in the border region, achieving notable accomplishments in their careers.
