Microsoft has recently issued an update to its Health Dashboard, acknowledging that enabling the Family Safety feature on Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems can cause Chrome browsers to fail to launch or crash unexpectedly. The issue primarily surfaces when users disable the "Activity Reporting" setting within the Family Safety feature. The affected Chrome versions are 137.0.7151.68 and 137.0.7151.69, with Windows 11 users being the most impacted, though some Windows 10 users have also reported similar issues. Microsoft advises users to keep the Activity Reporting feature enabled to prevent crashes, although a permanent fix is yet to be provided. Google has confirmed that the root cause of the problem lies with Microsoft and has suggested users unblock Chrome within the Family Safety app.
