Effective June 23, the United States has imposed additional tariffs on a range of steel-intensive home appliances, encompassing refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, and cooking stoves. These tariffs are set at 50% of the value of the steel content in each product, with an additional 25% tariff specifically on British-origin goods. This classification of products as "steel-derived" reflects the new tariff adjustment. The newly enacted regulations apply to goods that enter the U.S. or are withdrawn from warehouses on or after June 23, Eastern Time. Notably, appliances manufactured using steel that has been melted and poured within the United States are exempt from these tariffs.
