On June 19, Geneva time, Academician Xu Jianmin from the Chinese Academy of Engineering was awarded the prestigious 70th International Meteorological Organization (IMO) Award. As the sole recipient for this year, Xu Jianmin became the fourth Chinese scientist to earn this top-tier international meteorological distinction. The accolade was bestowed upon him during the 79th Session of the Executive Council of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), in recognition of his exceptional contributions to meteorology, hydrology, and geophysical sciences.
