A Chinese enterprise has initiated construction on a tram project in the western Colombian city of Facatativá, located in the province of Cundinamarca. This landmark undertaking marks the first large-scale infrastructure project in Colombia since its accession to the Belt and Road Initiative. The project aims to bridge the capital city of Bogotá with four municipalities in Cundinamarca, establishing the first tram line connecting the metropolis with its neighboring satellite cities. The project encompasses 39.66 kilometers of double-track electrified railways, 17 stations, and various supporting facilities.
