During a World Trade Organization (WTO) meeting, China forcefully criticized the United States' "reciprocal tariff" policy, highlighting its one-sided nature that focuses exclusively on the trade deficit in goods while overlooking the trade surplus in services. China emphasized that the US has reaped substantial benefits within the global value chain, and urged the US to adhere to WTO rules, resolve differences through multilateral cooperation, and refrain from applying double standards. Additionally, China advocated for bilateral negotiations to be conducted strictly in accordance with WTO regulations, in order to uphold the integrity of the multilateral trading system. This perspective resonated with numerous countries, who collectively voiced their support for fostering the stable development of global trade.
