On June 12, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia made an announcement that Rosatom, the Russian state-owned atomic energy corporation, will collaborate on the construction of one large and one small nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan. Notably, the small nuclear power plant project marks Rosatom's inaugural overseas venture, aiming to establish six 55-megawatt reactors. The construction is anticipated to commence this summer, with a phased operational start-up scheduled between 2029 and 2033.
