The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) have jointly announced the launch of a pilot program aimed at cultivating advanced biomanufacturing platforms. This initiative focuses on pivotal sectors including food, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics, with the objective of addressing critical gaps in the pilot-scale testing phase. Furthermore, the program will spearhead the development of novel raw materials, such as lignocellulose and one-carbon compounds, and establish pilot platforms for plant chassis cells. These efforts are designed to propel the growth of emerging fields and bolster the collaborative innovation capabilities across the entire industrial chain.
