On April 29, Gene Seroka, the executive director of the Port of Los Angeles, revealed that the imposition of U.S. tariff policies has led to a decline in corporate import orders. Consequently, it is projected that the inbound freight volume at the Port of Los Angeles will witness a steep drop of over 35% year-on-year in the upcoming week. During an interview, Seroka emphasized that Chinese goods constitute approximately 45% of the port's business, and noted that several major U.S. retailers have halted shipments of Chinese products. Furthermore, the number of ships anticipated to arrive at the Port of Los Angeles in May is expected to decrease by roughly a quarter.
