The head of the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Air Traffic Organization has stepped down in response to the recurring accidents near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Consequently, the Administration has overhauled the airport's air traffic control management team. This year alone, Reagan Airport has witnessed several grave incidents, including a fatal collision between a passenger plane and a Black Hawk helicopter, resulting in the passenger plane crashing into a river with no survivors, and a near-collision between a Delta Air Lines passenger plane and a US military jet.
