In 2026, the global small nucleic acid drug sector continues to heat up. The transaction scale in the siRNA field has exceeded ten billion US dollars, with core assets mostly coming from innovative Chinese pharmaceutical companies. Suzhou Shi'an Biotechnology, established only four years ago, has successively achieved breakthroughs in pipelines, business development (BD), and financing: its fat-targeting siRNA drug SA030 has been licensed to GSK in a deal with a total transaction value exceeding one billion US dollars. It is China's first fat-targeting siRNA approved for clinical trials, and in head-to-head studies in animal models, its activity is dozens of times higher than that of competitors in the same sector, giving it best-in-class potential. The world's first single-molecule dual-target siRNA drug approved for clinical trials, SA1211, targets a functional cure for hepatitis B and has excellent preclinical data. It is currently advancing Phase Ib research and is expected to provide a new solution for hepatitis B cure. The company's founder, Yang Zhiwei, has deep R&D experience in nucleic acid delivery and leads the team to rely on a differentiated technology route of "dual-target innovation + extrahepatic delivery" to achieve rapid development amid the capital winter through BD cooperation and connecting with multinational pharmaceutical resources. At present, original innovation in China's siRNA sector continues to emerge, and the industry generally expects that this sector is likely to produce a leading enterprise with a market value of hundreds of billions or even trillions in the future.
