On November 4, the China Center for Information Industry Development released the "2026 New Display Industry Development Report," revealing that China's new display industry has achieved leapfrog development and has become the world's most technologically diversified display panel production base. Hu Chunming, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the Liquid Crystal Branch of the China Optics and Optoelectronics Manufacturers Association, noted that in 2025 the output value of China's new display industry reached 838.6 billion yuan, with a global market share exceeding 53%, and display panel shipment area surpassing 220 million square meters, accounting for 77% of the global total. In June this year, China's first and the world's second 8.6-generation AMOLED production line began mass production in Chengdu, which is expected to drive the expansion of OLED screens—already widely used in mobile phones—into medium- and large-sized markets such as laptops and monitors.
