The inaugural CMG World Robot Mount Tai Climbing Competition kicked off in Tai'an, Shandong. The 3.9-kilometer course is defined by continuous stone steps, steep inclines, and winding curves, designed to test the robots' locomotion capabilities over complex terrain and their level of autonomous decision-making. A Unitree-affiliated team, competing with the Unitree A2 robot dog, took first place in the legged robot racing competition. The Shanghai Gaoyi Technology team, using the Unitree A2 and B2, respectively claimed second place in the legged robot racing competition and second place in the legged robot load-bearing competition, with the B2 completing the mountain stair-climbing challenge while carrying an effective payload of 66 kg. Unitree officially entered only two quadruped robots across two events, while multiple independent teams also competed on their own after secondary development based on Unitree products—demonstrating not only the quadruped robots' locomotion capabilities on complex terrain but also Unitree's influence in the developer ecosystem and the field of secondary development.
