On October 8, Zhaopeng Chen, CEO of the German robotics firm Agile Robots, disclosed that the company is addressing the challenge of limited training data in industrial automation development by capturing human movements on film to train robots. Speaking at the Wave by Vento tech event in Turin, Italy, Chen elaborated that Agile Robots’ 'Robot Academy' organizes staff to film the execution of specific tasks, meticulously recording hand and finger movements. This data is then integrated with other training materials, enabling robots to practice repeatedly in simulated settings. At present, numerous startups have sprung up across Europe and beyond, with the ambition of integrating humanoid robots into factories to boost production efficiency and cut costs. Nevertheless, the scarcity of training data continues to be a significant barrier to the widespread deployment of robots, hindering their ability to carry out even basic tasks.
