In California, USA, a company dubbed 'Robot Entertainment Kombat' (REK) faced legal action from regulatory bodies for organizing an event in San Francisco that was touted as the 'world's first human-robot fight.' During the contest, social media personality Frankie Lapena squared off against REK's towering 'Terminator' robot, which measures around 1.8 meters in height, inside a cage. Despite donning protective equipment, Lapena was forcefully kicked by the robot and propelled into the cage wall. Following the fight, REK was issued a cease-and-desist order, compelling them to halt the hosting, promotion, or sponsorship of such unauthorized combat events. Presently, the California State Athletic Commission has intervened, emphasizing that such events necessitate prior government authorization, licensing, and supervision.
