The development of the Linux kernel has made new progress, with the third release candidate (RC) of version 7.3 now available. The first RC was released on August 31, followed by the second RC on September 7, and it is now progressing toward the stable version expected in late October. The size of RC1 increased significantly due to the GPU register-related code submitted by AMD, which accounts for approximately one-third of the entire RC1 patch. Meanwhile, Linux 7.3 has also addressed numerous CVE vulnerabilities, introduced support for new hardware, and implemented various performance optimizations.
