Korean Air, South Korea's premier airline, has revealed its intention to introduce complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi, backed by Starlink's technology, on certain flights beginning next week. Initially, this service will be available on four wide-body aircraft, comprising three Airbus A350-900s and one Boeing 777-300ER. These planes will serve medium- to long-haul routes to destinations across the Americas, Europe, and Southeast Asia, in addition to some shorter routes. Korean Air aims to progressively roll out the service across its entire operational fleet by the close of 2027, a move that Asiana Airlines is also expected to emulate. Meanwhile, aircraft that have not yet been fitted with the necessary technology during this transitional phase will maintain their existing paid Wi-Fi services.
