On September 8, Circle Internet Group announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Tazapay, a Singapore-based B2B cross-border payment infrastructure company. The transaction is expected to close in 2027, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. Tazapay handles over $25 billion in annualized payment volume, has more than 60 partners, and offers payment channels covering over 100 markets, with approximately 60% of its transaction volume involving stablecoins. This acquisition will enhance Circle's global payment and receipt capabilities, promoting the use of USDC in cross-border commercial payments. It is expected that Tazapay's existing customer services, among others, will remain unaffected.
