GMO AI & Robotics, a subsidiary of Japan's GMO Internet Group, has proudly unveiled Japan's inaugural maintenance and rescue vehicle, meticulously crafted to cater exclusively to the needs of humanoid robots. This innovative vehicle is equipped to deliver on-the-spot diagnostic, repair, and replacement services, complete with backup robots to ensure seamless operations. In instances where on-site repair is not feasible, the malfunctioning robots will be carefully transported to the state-of-the-art laboratory in Shibuya, Tokyo, for further evaluation and treatment.

The company drew inspiration from an incident at the second World Humanoid Robotics Championship held in China this August. During the event, a Unitree G1 robot was promptly repaired on-site after sustaining damage from a fall. This incident underscored the pressing need for a robust maintenance system, especially considering the relatively high failure rate of humanoid robots. Recognizing this, GMO AI & Robotics is convinced that establishing a comprehensive maintenance network is paramount to fostering the widespread acceptance and utilization of humanoid robots.
