Volkswagen Group has reached an agreement with Israeli investment firm Aurelius Capital and the government of Lower Saxony, its second-largest shareholder, to transfer its Osnabrück factory in Germany. The factory will be transformed into a specialized center for security and defense, producing components for Israel's 'Iron Dome' air defense system. Currently, the factory assembles the T-Roc convertible model and, as per a previous agreement, will cease full vehicle production next year. The trade union has conditionally agreed to the sale plan, which includes retaining 1,400 jobs until 2029 and making efforts to secure employment for the remaining employees. On September 3, Volkswagen's Supervisory Board approved the Future Pact 2030, which includes personnel adjustments affecting approximately 50,000 employees across the group.
