Recently, the Multidimensional Detection and Intelligent Recognition Team from Southeast University has made significant strides in the field of polarization 3D imaging by introducing an innovative approach for real-time 3D imaging. This method is centered around the reconstruction of polarization states that respond to electrical signals. By incorporating four-directional gratings—oriented at 0°, 45°, 90°, and 135°—into the imaging device, the team can directly extract both the degree and angle of polarization from unknown partially polarized light. This enables the electrical reconstruction of the polarization state with precision. Subsequently, the polarization information is translated into zenith and azimuth angles within a polar coordinate system, thereby offering a novel and compact solution for achieving real-time polarization 3D imaging.
