On the evening of September 5 (local time), the “Spectrum” carrier rocket, developed by German aerospace startup Isar Aerospace, lifted off from Andøya Spaceport in Norway and successfully reached orbit. This event marked the rocket’s second launch and its inaugural mission carrying a functional payload. The “Spectrum” is a two-stage carrier rocket, standing approximately 28 meters tall, and is primarily designed for launching small to medium-sized satellites. It has a maximum payload capacity of about 1 ton to low Earth orbit.

During its maiden test flight in March 2025, the rocket encountered a flight anomaly and crashed into the sea, failing to reach orbit. However, this latest successful launch represents a significant milestone: it is the first time a European commercial aerospace company has successfully launched an orbital carrier rocket from the European mainland and achieved orbit.
