The official WeChat Hongmeng Edition App has undergone an update, advancing to version 8.0.21.38. This update is primarily focused on resolving previously identified issues. During the grayscale testing phase, a number of new features were introduced. These include a foldable chat option for private messages set to do-not-disturb mode, the ability to unfollow WeChat Official Accounts by simply swiping left on them in the list, the option to copy links when sharing content from Channels, red dot notifications for live streams, multiple privacy settings tailored for Channels, and support for live commerce, among others.

Furthermore, the update brings forth exciting new features such as an immersive music listening space with the 'Listen a Bit' function, AI-generated song categories for a more personalized music experience, auxiliary functions designed to assist WeChat Pay merchants, friend permission settings specifically for common greetings, adjustable focal lengths and macro buttons within the WeChat camera for enhanced photography, the capability to import specific chat records from the Hongmeng version to the PC version for seamless continuity, live stream co-hosting for interactive broadcasting, the ability to send and view merged images for efficient sharing, auxiliary login from other phones for added convenience, and the option to pin notes to chat for easy reference.

It's worth noting that some features were temporarily withdrawn or gradually rolled out to ensure a smooth user experience. Since its debut on Huawei's Hongmeng App Market in January of the previous year, the WeChat Hongmeng Edition has been equipped with multiple key features and has achieved an impressive 75.85 million installations, demonstrating its popularity and widespread adoption.
