On September 1, it was reported that recently, the world's first international standard for legged robots, 'Robots—Service Robot Performance Specification and Its Test Methods—Part 5: Locomotion of Legged Robots,' formulated under the leadership of Chinese experts, was officially released. Legged robots, such as humanoid robots and robot dogs, rely on their legs for walking, running, jumping, climbing slopes, and overcoming obstacles, and have been widely applied in fields such as performance, inspection, transportation, and search and rescue. However, previously, there was a lack of a unified global standard to evaluate their locomotive performance. The newly released international standard establishes, for the first time, a globally unified evaluation system.
