On August 28, during the main forum of the 2026 HarmonyOS Ecosystem Conference, Gao Tongqing, Chairman of the Global Intelligent IoT Consortium (GIIC), proclaimed the formal initiation of the 'Hongtu Plan'. Spearheaded by GIIC and backed by Huawei, this initiative is designed to rally partners from all segments of the industrial chain—such as chip, module, OSV (Original System Vendor), and device companies—to collectively fortify the HarmonyOS ecosystem's foundation. It aims to facilitate its widespread implementation across diverse industries by offering multifaceted incentives for development, evaluation, and commercialization. At present, the OpenHarmony community boasts over 13,000 contributors, more than 650 ecosystem partners, and in excess of 2,000 products, with the number of HarmonyOS terminal devices surpassing 80 million. This plan is set to reduce entry barriers for partners, enhance product adaptation efficiency, and expedite the transition of OpenHarmony products from technical validation to large-scale commercial deployment.
