SpaceX plans to build a foundry in Bastrop, Texas, to produce core components of gas turbines—blades and guide vanes—in order to address issues of high technical barriers and scarce production capacity. Musk confirmed that this move could advance the deployment of gas turbines by up to 18 months. Additionally, he stated that SpaceX and Tesla are accelerating the construction of solar energy capacity with an annual output of 100GW, but natural gas will remain a necessary option to complement and guide solar energy for the next few years.
