On August 29, news broke that China’s domestically developed F-class 50-megawatt heavy-duty gas turbine had recently been shipped to Kazakhstan. This milestone represents China’s inaugural export of a complete F-class heavy-duty gas turbine with entirely indigenous intellectual property rights, marking a significant leap from technological localization to a new era of industrialization and global market penetration in the high-end heavy-duty gas turbine sector. Heavy-duty gas turbines stand as the cornerstone of advanced equipment manufacturing and provide vital support for the new-type power systems. In comparison to traditional thermal power units of equivalent capacity, the exported F-class 50-megawatt heavy-duty gas turbine showcases remarkable benefits. Comprising more than 20,000 precision components, each unit generates over 70,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per hour, while curbing annual carbon dioxide emissions by over 500,000 tons. Its attributes include high efficiency, energy conservation, low-carbon emissions, and flexible start-stop functionality, aligning perfectly with the demands of constructing new-type power systems.
