From August 28 to 29, the HarmonyOS Ecosystem Conference 2026 unfolded at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center (Futian), centered around the theme "New Smart Connectivity, New Future." The event highlighted the cutting-edge accomplishments of the HarmonyOS ecosystem in fundamental technology, standard frameworks, and industry-specific applications. Xu Zhijun, representing Huawei, participated and gave a speech, underscoring that the development of the HarmonyOS ecosystem is a sustained endeavor demanding global competitiveness. He disclosed that there are presently over 100,000 applications natively built for HarmonyOS and more than 400,000 mobile apps compatible with it. By August 20, 2026, the number of terminal devices running HarmonyOS 6 had surpassed 80 million, with a projected milestone of 100 million expected to be reached in the fourth quarter of this year. Huawei is set to partner with various stakeholders to launch pilot initiatives in select countries and regions, aiming to propel the globalization of the HarmonyOS ecosystem and present global users with an alternative option alongside mainstream systems. This conference also served as a vital platform for global partners to engage in exchanges and collaborations.
