On August 25, reports surfaced that on the preceding day, August 24, the self-media outlet "Jipian Lab" had cited several industry insiders as revealing a suspension in the approval process for newly declared lithium-ion battery production capacities for the latter half of the year. In response to these claims, personnel from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) stated on the 25th that they had not found any relevant information on their official website. Simultaneously, representatives from listed companies, including Leading Intelligent Equipment and GCL-Poly Energy, also confirmed that they had not received any such notifications. Liu Yong, the Secretary-General of the Energy Storage Application Branch under the China Industrial Association of Power Sources, expressed uncertainty regarding the veracity of the news. He opined that a "one-size-fits-all" policy was unlikely and suggested that the MIIT might make appropriate adjustments as necessary.
