On August 25, 2026, at precisely 11:21 AM, the Long March 6C Yao-1 carrier rocket soared into the skies from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, successfully deploying seven satellites into their designated orbits. Among these satellites, the Galaxy Space Lingzhi 09 Thailand CubeSat, developed by Galaxy Space, stands out as a significant achievement. This satellite has been commissioned by the Thailand Geographic Information and Space Technology Development Agency and is set to provide Thailand with comprehensive remote sensing data collection services. Additionally, it will play a pivotal role in supporting relevant practical teaching initiatives.
This launch event is historic as it marks the inaugural instance where a Chinese commercial space satellite enterprise has undertaken the complete development, launch, and in-orbit delivery of an entire satellite for a Southeast Asian nation. This accomplishment not only underscores the advanced capabilities of Chinese commercial space enterprises in delivering integrated solutions encompassing satellite delivery, operation, and educational support but also highlights their growing prominence on the international stage. As such, overseas business ventures are emerging as a promising new avenue for growth and development for these enterprises.
