On July 28, Australian mining firm IGO unveiled its fourth-quarter performance report for the 2026 fiscal year. The report disclosed that the CGP3 plant at the Greenbushes Lithium Mine—the world's premier hard-rock lithium mine, in which IGO holds a stake—is slated to recommence production in the near future, following a fire incident in June. This facility has been non-operational for roughly seven weeks. Tianqi Lithium, a co-owner of the Greenbushes Lithium Mine, had previously issued a notification concerning the fire at the CGP3 plant. Notwithstanding the fire's repercussions, spodumene production at the Greenbushes Mine witnessed a 10% quarter-over-quarter uptick this quarter, with prices rocketing up by 37% quarter-over-quarter and an EBITDA margin reaching as high as 80%. Concurrently, IGO also furnished an update on the lithium hydroxide plant, highlighting a quarter-over-quarter production dip in the fourth quarter and the necessity for capacity enhancement.
