On July 28th, news emerged that the Lihong-2 reusable launch vehicle, developed by CAS Space, has finalized its design and has fully transitioned into the engineering development phase. Presently, extensive ground tests are being conducted, with ambitions to achieve a maiden flight and a 100-kilometer-level recovery verification within this year. This spacecraft, boasting a length of 18 meters and a takeoff weight of 60 tons, is capable of reaching a maximum flight altitude surpassing 100 kilometers. It is designed to carry payloads for various purposes, including space pharmaceutical manufacturing, unmanned robotic systems, and wearable monitoring devices tailored for space tourism. Additionally, it will serve as a platform for verifying multiple cutting-edge technologies.
