In July 2026, Microsoft unveiled plans to extend the Xbox Backward Compatibility feature to the Xbox on PC platform. The initial rollout encompasses four classic Xbox titles: Blinkx: The Time Sweeper, Whacked!, Kameo: Elements of Power, and Conker: Live & Reloaded. Currently accessible as an early preview, this functionality permits users to purchase games individually through the PC version of the Xbox app or enjoy them via an Xbox Game Pass subscription.

Microsoft has also revealed its intention to implement an achievement system for these and future classic games. This system, initially introduced with the Xbox 360 in 2005, enables players to accumulate achievement points by accomplishing specific in-game tasks. However, it is important to note that this update will not retrospectively apply to past achievements; players will be required to fulfill the conditions anew to earn these points.

The PC versions of these games boast enhanced graphical capabilities, including up to 4x resolution scaling, vertical sync, both full-screen and windowed display modes, anisotropic filtering, and advanced anti-aliasing techniques. Additionally, users can customize language and audio settings to suit their preferences. Microsoft intends to integrate the achievement system into these games through forthcoming updates and will persist in expanding the library of compatible titles.
