On July 14 (local time), Google unveiled its partnership with Cypress Creek Energy to embark on the construction of the Steel River Energy Center project in Arkansas, U.S. Once completed, this ambitious endeavor is set to become the largest solar power generation facility across the United States. Moreover, it will stand as Google's most significant solar and energy storage project on a global scale. As the primary investor and power purchaser, Google will provide unwavering support for both the first and second phases of the project. This support will encompass the addition of 1.6GW of direct current (DC) solar power generation capacity and 1.9GWh of energy storage capabilities. The entire three-phase project is anticipated to be fully operational by 2029, with a grand total capacity of 2.5GW of DC solar power generation and 2.9GWh of energy storage.
