Mozilla has recently made public its decision to revise the version update strategy for the Firefox browser. Beginning on September 1, 2026, the browser will shift from its current update cycle to a bi-weekly release schedule. This strategic move is designed to expedite the deployment of security patches, bolster the platform's reliability and performance, and stay in sync with the update frequencies of rival browsers such as Chrome and Edge. Sylvestre Ledru, Mozilla's supervisor, emphasized that this expedited release plan is currently in the "experimental" phase and is subject to modification at any point if unforeseen issues emerge.
