On July 13th, news emerged that the Long March 10B carrier rocket had been launched from the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site on July 10th. Roughly six minutes following the separation of the rocket's first and second stages, the first stage made a vertical return and executed a flawless landing on an offshore recovery platform. This achievement signifies China's inaugural triumph in executing controlled recovery for the first stage of a carrier rocket, and it also represents the world's first instance of employing net system recovery technology. The 'Navigator' offshore platform, utilized for this recovery endeavor, was retrofitted for the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology by CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering (Group) Company Limited (COMES), in conjunction with the Institute of Deep-Sea Science and Engineering at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It stands as China's pioneering offshore platform specifically designed for rocket net system recovery.
