CSPC Innovation has officially declared that its wholly-owned subsidiary, JY Biosciences, inked a 'Cooperation, Option, and License Agreement' with AstraZeneca on July 1, 2026. This landmark partnership will see both entities embark on a strategic collaboration within the realm of innovative small interfering nucleic acid (siNA) drug candidates, with a specific focus on co-developing groundbreaking extrahepatic delivery siNA drug candidates.
As per the terms of the agreement, AstraZeneca is set to provide JY Biosciences with an initial upfront payment of US$30 million. Should the options for both the primary project and any subsequent projects be exercised, and all predefined milestones are successfully met, JY Biosciences stands to gain potential research and development milestone payments of up to US$540 million, in addition to potential sales milestone payments that could reach as high as US$1.2 billion.
