Apple's inaugural touchscreen laptop is rumored to come loaded with the current top-tier M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, eschewing the use of next-gen processors. Nevertheless, the tech giant is also in the process of developing subsequent models that will be powered by the forthcoming M7 processors. As an enhancement to its premium lineup, the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook variants are slated for release between the latter part of this year and the onset of next year. This launch will represent Apple's most substantial overhaul of its high-end laptops since the transition away from Intel chips in 2020. Historically, Apple had been reluctant to introduce a touchscreen Mac, with Steve Jobs once famously dismissing the concept as impractical. The unveiling of this touchscreen device is anticipated to provide a sales impetus for Mac products. When approached for comment, an Apple spokesperson refrained from making any statements regarding the plan.
