On June 25, the second installment of a series of policy briefings, themed “Safeguarding and Enhancing People’s Livelihoods in the Context of High-Quality Development,” took place in Beijing. This event was co-hosted by the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Working Committee for Departments under the Central Committee and State Organs, the Ministry of Education, the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission, and the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China.
Yin Hejun, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, presented a special report titled “Forging a Powerhouse in Science and Technology to Bolster High-Quality Development.” In this report, he comprehensively expounded on the new landscape and accomplishments of China’s scientific and technological pursuits, employing detailed data and case studies as evidence. He highlighted that, since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China has achieved remarkable successes in scientific and technological innovation. These achievements have substantially boosted China’s scientific and technological prowess and global standing, thereby providing a robust impetus for high-quality development.
Yin Hejun underscored that the “15th Five-Year Plan” period is a pivotal juncture for constructing a science and technology powerhouse. It is imperative to harness scientific and technological innovation as the driving force behind high-quality development and to fulfill the people’s yearning for an improved quality of life.
