On June 21, the Financial Times reported that index provider MSCI gave SpaceX the lowest ESG rating of 'CCC' ahead of its public offering of up to $75 billion this month. MSCI pointed out that SpaceX's high-risk exposure and failure to effectively manage significant ESG risks have left it lagging in the industry. Frédéric Ducoulombier, the program director of the EDHEC Business School Climate Impact Institute, stated that SpaceX has performed poorly in controversy assessment and governance assessment, resulting in a low overall ESG rating.
