Microsoft plans to release the Windows 11 26H2 version later in 2026, continuing its 'small and rapid' strategy by extending the system support cycle through lightweight enablement packages, without increasing hardware requirements or introducing major new features. This version will be delivered as an enablement package of less than 500KB, requiring only a single restart for installation. The Home and Pro editions will be supported until October 2028, while the Enterprise and Education editions will be supported until October 2029.
