In May, China witnessed a total sales volume of 182.2 GWh for power and energy storage batteries, marking an 11.0% increase from the previous month and a significant 47.4% surge compared to the same period last year. Breaking it down, sales of power batteries reached 127.0 GWh, constituting 69.7% of the total sales. This segment experienced a robust 16.6% month-on-month growth and a 45.2% year-on-year increase. On the other hand, sales of energy storage batteries amounted to 55.2 GWh, accounting for 30.3% of the total. Although there was a slight 0.1% dip from the previous month, the year-on-year growth stood at an impressive 52.7%. From January to May, the cumulative sales volume reached 783.4 GWh, reflecting a 48.5% increase year-on-year.
