British pop star Dua Lipa has initiated legal action against Samsung, claiming the tech giant featured her photograph—taken at the Austin City Limits Music Festival—on the packaging of its U7900F television model without her consent. According to the lawsuit, Samsung neither sought permission for the image’s use nor entered into any endorsement or marketing agreements with the artist. Despite Dua Lipa’s demands to halt the unauthorized use, Samsung allegedly failed to address the issue appropriately. The singer argues that Samsung’s actions could mislead consumers into believing she endorses the product. As a result, she is pursuing legal claims on three grounds: copyright infringement, defamation, and false advertising, seeking $15 million in damages. At the time of reporting, Samsung has not issued a public statement regarding the allegations.
