On April 10, reports indicated that during the first quarter, the National Mine Safety Administration, in collaboration with five key departments—including the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Natural Resources—convened a meeting to further escalate the crackdown on illegal mining activities. The administration called upon regions that had yet to complete their rectification tasks to fulfill their obligations promptly. As a result, the number of regions with outstanding closure tasks has been significantly reduced from 14 to just 5. Concurrently, the administration has reinforced mine safety measures in anticipation of the flood season. This includes proactively implementing flood prevention strategies, enhancing ventilation management systems, and executing comprehensive disaster risk prevention and control measures to avert potential accidents.
