Recently, the U.S. government entered into an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) framework agreement with commercial space firm BlackSky. Under this contract, BlackSky is tasked with designing and constructing a cutting-edge space surveillance system aimed at bolstering monitoring capabilities across Earth's orbit and extending into 'cislunar space'—the region between Earth and the Moon. The U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory will have the flexibility to continually place orders with BlackSky for satellites and associated surveillance services, tailored to specific mission needs. Moreover, this collaboration will facilitate further enhancements to the space intelligence system, which is already acclaimed as the 'world's most advanced.'
